Christmas 2016

Over the past few days, I have been spending a great deal of time with my close family and friends, and I feel so lucky to be surrounded by such a wonderful group of human beings (and more than a few cyborgs).

At the conclusion of an incredibly tumultuous and emotional year, I am grateful for indoor picnics with fresh olive ciabatta and uncontrollable belly laughs, for hot cups of coffee in the garden and giggles because I can’t stop sneezing, for long chats while frying vegetables for a Christmas moussaka, for stormy wet weather over Johannesburg, and for computer games and cuddles… it’s moments like these that refresh the soul. (Setting cakes on fire is also quite cathartic, as it turns out.)
